Mirta on Designers to Know: Ming Jewellery
Some jewelry you admire.
Some jewelry you feel.
In October 2023, Ming Lampson came to New York with Vivienne Becker and I had the pleasure of meeting two jewelry powerhouses I had long admired from across the pond.
From the moment I saw Ming's pieces, I felt an immediate connection, one that deepened the moment I held and tried them on. I felt it instantly: an electric jolt, butterflies, fire, energy and a smile. Everything around me tuned out, and I couldn’t stop looking at her work. That’s how I know a piece is special to me.
Science may call gemstones non-living, but I believe they are beautiful vessels of energy, power, history and life.
Ming’s work is led by intention. The stones come first. Their natural beauty is honored, never overworked. Her pieces have a beautiful heft, yet are incredibly comfortable to wear, a rare and thoughtful balance.
The legendary Suzanne Belperron once said, “My style is my signature.” And I must say, Ming’s designs are unmistakably hers. They always offer an unexpected surprise.
Scroll through to enjoy some of my favorites and keep Ming and her designs firmly on your mind.
Congratulations to you Ming Lamson, this is just the beginning and I wish you nothing but the best. Your creations are a true treasure to the world.
Some designers catch your eye.
Others stay on your mind.
